| One Act |
| Comic Mini
Operas (2m, 2f principals with 1m/f support) |
| |
A collection of six comic mini-operas,
each about seven minutes
long. For each piece, the words have been
humorously updated whilst the music is mostly that
of the original composer with a modicum of new and
transitioning pieces by Christopher Wortley. They
can be performed virtually anywhere … all
that is required is a keyboard, the performers and
a few simple props. |

| Ring Of White
Roses (2m, 2f principals with 1m, 2f support) |
| |
An intriguing one act opera telling
the true, but tragic love story, of two young people
caught up in the horror of the 17th Century 'plague
village' of Eyam (pronounced 'Eem') in Derbyshire.
The music has a definite classical feel to it which
complements the subject matter. |

| Three Act |
| Lorna
Doone (5m, 6f principals, plus 3m non-singing
support) |
| |
Lorna Doone is a full length piece
of musical theatre based on the famous Blackmore
novel. It was premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe,
where it received high critical acclaim. It is designed
so that it can be performed by quite a small company
as several major parts do not overlap. Rather in
the Gilbert & Sullivan genre, it makes a colourful
and entertaining show for most amateur musical theatre
companies to get their teeth into. Its title should
overcome any reluctance about box office appeal.
