... new titles ... new challenges ... new rewards ...

A bitter-sweet comedy looking at life through the eyes of Annie Johnson. Married to Bill for thirty-five years, the highlight of her life is her weekly shop at Asda.

She has devoted her adult life to being a wife and a mother, and then suddenly, after his death she finds herself to be a woman on her own. She realises that she has forgotten how to be herself, forgotten her dreams and mislaid her ambitions, but with help (or hindrance) from her nosey next-door neighbour Hilary, she starts to re-build her life.

Husband Bill, although gone, is not going to let her get on with her life, without trying to interfere for one last time.

Bill Johnson - 50-60, a man with traditional attitudes on the place of women in the home
Annie Johnson - 45-55, his wife with a strong sense of maternal and domestic duty
Phil - 18-25, their son
Karen - 18-25, their daughter
Hilary - 35-45, their neighbour. Knows a little about a lot, a kind-hearted nosey-parker
Irene - Bill's sister. Out for what she can get
Paul - an acquaintance of Annie
